6 Ladies came together on sunny Saturday morning to learn the process of sourdough. We ate, laughed and baked together. I got to know these ladies and we enjoyed a few hours of community together. Hopefully they learned enough to carry on the process at home!

Snacks keep the brain humming along! We took a lot of information and I loved all the questions!

Because sourdough takes longer to proof, we started the class mixing the dough. Moving on to starter care and questions, we ended the beginning portion with a few questions. From there we walked through stretching and folding the dough, we talked about the differences between sourdough and regular yeast and all the preferences sourdough has. The bakers guide kept us on schedule somewhat but of course this is slow and relaxed class. After a few more stretch and folds, I demonstrated shaping with some dough that I had mixed up earlier. We set this aside and it was later consumed for lunch with our soup! We ended our class with shaping and baking instructions. I sent these ladies home with their unbaked bread and wished them luck! What a lovely day we had together.
